How a Disintegrator Works
A disintegrator is simply a rotary knife mill. This proven technology utilizes a cutting mechanism consisting of 2 – 5 knives mounted on a solid steel rotor. The rotor spins at between 500 and 600 RPM and the rotor knives pass stationary bed knives.
Waste is continously cut until it is small enough to pass through a waste sizing screen. It is then typically carried to a dumpster, compactor or other receptacle by an air evacuation system.
